Privacy Policy
Written by us, not yet checked by a lawyer. BookTheMeet is in beta. We wrote this policy ourselves on 18 September 2026, in plain English, from the product's own specification, so that it describes what BookTheMeet actually does with your data. A lawyer has not reviewed it yet. One will, and we will update this page when that happens. If anything here is unclear, write to admin@bookthemeet.com. Nothing on this page takes away a right Indian law gives you.
1. Who operates BookTheMeet
BookTheMeet ("the Platform", "we", "us") is operated by:
Abhinandh S J, sole proprietor, trading as BookTheMeet
Kalathil Tharamal, Jafferkhan Colony, Near Planetarium,
Calicut 673006, Kerala, India
2. Information we collect
From every user who creates an account: name, email address, phone number, and profile photo.
From experts specifically: bank account details, so that Razorpay can pay out your share of each booking.
3. How we use your information
- To create and authenticate your account (Firebase Authentication).
- To process payments for bookings and workshop registrations (Razorpay).
- To create a Google Meet link for a confirmed booking.
- To send you transactional emails about your bookings and registrations.
What is public and what is not. If you publish an expert profile, that profile is public: your name, photo, headline, bio and the sessions you offer can be seen by anyone, found by search engines, and shown in the link preview when your page is shared. That is the point of it. A learner's profile is not public, and we never publish your email address, your phone number or your bank details anywhere.
4. Bank details
An expert's bank account details are encrypted at the application layer before they are stored, and are never returned to any client — including the expert's own dashboard. Nobody with access to the database can read a raw bank account number.
5. Google Meet and email privacy
The Google Meet link for every booking is created by BookTheMeet's own service account, not by the expert's or the learner's personal Google account. Neither party's personal email address is ever exposed to the other through the platform.
6. Payments
Payments are processed by Razorpay. BookTheMeet does not store your card number, UPI ID, or other full payment credentials — Razorpay handles that directly.
7. Cookies and sessions
Signing in sets a single httpOnly session cookie used to keep you signed in. It cannot be read by page scripts. BookTheMeet does not currently operate a cookie consent banner or use tracking or advertising cookies.
8. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can ask us to delete it — see below.
9. Your rights under the DPDP Act
You may request deletion of your personal data at any time. To do so, email admin@bookthemeet.com from the address on your account. We will confirm your request and remove your personal information from our systems, other than what we are required to keep for legal or accounting reasons.
10. Who we share data with
Razorpay (payments and payouts), Google (Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, and Google Meet), and our transactional email provider. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
12. Contact
Questions about this policy, or a data deletion request, can be sent to admin@bookthemeet.com.
If you want to raise a formal complaint rather than ask a question, our grievance officer is named in section 15 of our Terms of Service, at the same address.
