Refund Policy
This policy explains what you get back when a paid booking on BookTheMeet is cancelled. It covers workshops and 1:1 calls — the two things BookTheMeet sells.
Cancelling a 1:1 call
What you get back depends on how long before the call you cancel, measured from the call's scheduled start time.

The 3.5% is the payment-gateway fee our payment provider charges on the full amount when you pay, and does not return when we refund you. It is why the first row is 96.5% rather than 100%; in the second row it comes out of the half the platform keeps, so you still receive 50% of what you paid. We keep no commission at all on a cancelled call — the 10% commission applies to calls that happen.
Every expert sets how much notice they need before a call, and BookTheMeet never accepts a booking with less than 10 minutes’ notice. A call booked 24 hours or less before it starts is in the 50% row from the moment you pay for it; if you would rather keep the option of a larger refund, choose a time further out.
If the expert cancels a confirmed call, for any reason and at any time before it starts, you receive a 100% refund — the whole amount, with no payment fee deducted, because the cancellation was not yours — and the expert is issued a strike against their account.
If you do not join a call you booked (a no-show), no refund is issued and the expert keeps the payment, less the platform's 10% commission.

Cancelling a workshop registration
This table is not in SPEC §12 — it is a human decision recorded in the release backlog (§2.5) that closes a gap the specification left open. It mirrors the call tiers above exactly, but the clock starts from the workshop's first session, not a call's start time.

Once the first session has started, a registration can no longer be cancelled, and there is no refund for sessions you miss or leave early.
If the expert cancels a workshop before its first session starts, every registrant is refunded in full — 100%, with no payment fee deducted. After the first session has started, a cancellation is handled by our support team.
If the expert removes you from a workshop before its first session starts, you are refunded in full, and we email you to say so.
A free (₹0) workshop registration is cancellable on the same terms as above. Because there is nothing to refund, cancelling one simply releases your seat back to other learners.
How a refund is issued
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through Razorpay, BookTheMeet's payment processor. BookTheMeet does not hold your payment in a separate wallet or issue store credit.
