Terms of Service
Written by us, not yet checked by a lawyer. BookTheMeet is in beta. We wrote these terms ourselves on 18 September 2026, in plain English, from the product's own specification, so that they describe what BookTheMeet actually does rather than what a template says. A lawyer has not reviewed them yet. One will, and we will update this page when that happens — the date above will change, and we will tell you about anything that matters. If a clause here is unclear, or looks wrong to you, please write to us at admin@bookthemeet.com and we will fix it. Nothing on this page takes away a right Indian law gives you.
1. Who operates BookTheMeet
BookTheMeet ("the Platform", "we", "us") is operated by:
Abhinandh S J, sole proprietor, trading as BookTheMeet
Kalathil Tharamal, Jafferkhan Colony, Near Planetarium,
Calicut 673006, Kerala, India
Contact: admin@bookthemeet.com
2. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account, booking a call, or registering for a workshop on BookTheMeet, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy.
3. What BookTheMeet offers
BookTheMeet is a marketplace where learners pay experts for workshops — live sessions run once or over several days, either paid or free — and for paid 1:1 video calls.
4. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older to hold an account on BookTheMeet, to book a session, or to sell one.
If you are under 18, you may still learn here, but only with a parent or guardian involved. The account has to be created and held by them, they accept these terms on your behalf, they are responsible for what happens on the account, and they should be present or contactable for a session. We do not knowingly let a minor hold an account alone. If we find one, we will close it.
You also need to be able to enter into a contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. If you cannot — for example because a court has said so — please do not use BookTheMeet.
One person, one account. Do not open a second account for yourself, and do not hold an account in someone else's name. What you tell us about yourself — your name, email address, phone number, and, if you are an expert, your experience and your bank details — must be true, and you must keep it up to date. Your account is yours to look after, and you are responsible for what is done through it.
5. Payments and platform commission
Payments are collected through Razorpay. BookTheMeet charges a flat 10% commission on the gross amount of every paid call and workshop; the remaining 90% is settled to the expert.
An expert's payout for a completed 1:1 call is released two days (T+2) after the call finishes successfully. For a workshop, the expert's payout for each registration becomes payable once the workshop's first session has ended. Payouts are never released at the time of booking.
6. Bookings, cancellations, and refunds
Every expert sets how much notice they need before a call. BookTheMeet never accepts a booking with less than 10 minutes’ notice, and an expert may require more — their page states the notice they need. What you get back if you or the expert cancels a call or a workshop registration is governed entirely by our Refund Policy, which states the tiers verbatim and is the authority on this — not this page.
7. Workshops
Every workshop has a hard capacity of 50 registrants; registration closes once that seat count is reached. A workshop may be free (₹0) or paid — a free workshop still enforces the same 50-seat capacity limit and skips the payment step entirely.
8. Workshops over several sessions
A workshop can run over several sessions on different days, each with its own date and time. One registration and one payment cover every session; there is no separate price for any single session. Registration closes when the first session starts, and a workshop's dates, times and price cannot change once anyone has registered.
9. In-app chat
Text and image messaging between a learner and an expert is enabled only after a booking is confirmed, and remains available until 7 days after the session.
10. Expert conduct, strikes, and suspension
An expert who is confirmed to have no-showed or improperly cancelled a booking receives a strike on their account. Three strikes within any 90-day period result in an automatic 30-day suspension from the Platform.
11. Prohibited conduct
These rules apply to everyone on BookTheMeet — learners and experts alike. Do not:
- Pretend to be someone you are not. Do not impersonate another person or organisation, and do not claim a qualification, employer, award or achievement you do not have.
- Take the payment off the platform. A session arranged through BookTheMeet is paid for through BookTheMeet. Do not ask a learner to pay you directly — by UPI, bank transfer, cash or anything else — to avoid our commission, and do not offer to move an existing booking off the platform.
- Harass anyone. No abuse, threats, intimidation or stalking. No hate speech about anyone's religion, caste, gender, sexuality, disability, region or ethnicity. No sexual content, and nothing sexual involving a minor, ever, in any form.
- Record a call without consent. Do not record, photograph or screen-capture a session unless everyone on the call has agreed first.
- Share someone else's contact details. Do not pass on another person's phone number, email address, home address or other personal information, and do not try to get around the way BookTheMeet keeps the two sides' email addresses private from each other.
- Offer advice that does not belong here. BookTheMeet is not the place for medical or mental-health treatment, legal advice on your matter, investment advice or tips, immigration or visa consulting, healing offered as a cure, or matchmaking. Nobody may guarantee an outcome either — no promised cure, assured return, guaranteed job, admission or visa. This applies in every category, including "Other", and to a title, description, headline or bio just as much as to what is said on the call.
- Break the law. Do not use BookTheMeet for anything illegal, or to offer anything that cannot lawfully be sold in India.
- Scrape or automate. Do not copy the Platform's content in bulk, crawl it, or reach it with bots or scripts. An ordinary search engine following our robots file is fine; nothing else is.
- Attack the Platform. Do not probe or get around our security, try to reach an account or data that is not yours, or interfere with the service working for anyone else.
If you break these rules we may take down the listing, suspend the account or close it — see section 14.
12. Intellectual property
The Platform is ours. BookTheMeet owns this site — its software, its design, its name and its logo. Using BookTheMeet gives you no rights to any of that beyond using the service the way it is meant to be used.
Your work stays yours. An expert keeps the rights to their profile text and photos, their slides, notes, worksheets and other materials, and to what they teach. We do not claim ownership of it and we do not take it over.
What uploading gives us. When you upload something to BookTheMeet, you give us permission to store it and show it on the Platform — on your profile, in search and explore results, on a workshop page, and in the link preview the Platform builds when one of those pages is shared. That permission is non-exclusive, free of charge, and exists so we can run the service. It lasts while your content is on the Platform and ends when you remove it or close your account, apart from copies we have to keep for legal or accounting reasons and copies already sitting in someone else's cache. You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload.
Learners: do not copy the session. What you learn is yours to use. The session itself is not. Do not record it, do not pass the recording or the expert's materials to anyone else, do not republish them, and do not resell or re-teach them as an offering of your own — unless the expert has given you permission in writing.
If you think something on BookTheMeet uses your work without permission, email admin@bookthemeet.com telling us what it is and where you found it, and we will look into it.
13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
We are the marketplace, not the expert. BookTheMeet introduces learners to experts and handles the booking, the payment and the video link. We do not give the advice, teaching or coaching ourselves, and we are not a party to what the two of you agree between yourselves. The expert is responsible for what they say and do in a session.
We do not promise results. We do not guarantee that a session will get you a job, an admission, an income, a recovery, a skill or any other outcome. We do not check an expert's qualifications: their experience is what they have declared about themselves, and no more than that. We do not control how good a session turns out to be.
The service is provided "as is". We work to keep BookTheMeet up and working properly, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted or never have a fault, and we cannot promise that the services it depends on — payments, video calling, email — will always work.
There is a cap on what we owe you. If we are ever held liable to you over a booking, the most we are liable for is the amount you paid us for that booking. We are not liable for indirect or knock-on losses — lost profit, a lost opportunity, lost savings, or something that went wrong elsewhere because a session did not happen.
What this section does not touch. Nothing above limits any liability that Indian law does not permit to be limited. That includes liability for fraud, for deliberate wrongdoing, and for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and it includes your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. If a court decides part of this section cannot stand, the rest of it still applies.
14. Termination and account status
You can leave whenever you want. Write to admin@bookthemeet.com from the address on your account and we will close it. Deleting the personal data behind it is a separate right, and our Privacy Policy explains how to use it.
We can suspend or close an account. If you break these terms, we may take down a listing, suspend your account, or close it. Where it is practical we will tell you first and say why, and give you a chance to reply. Where it is not — someone's safety is at risk, there is fraud, or the law requires it — we will act first and tell you afterwards. The three-strikes rule in section 10 is automatic and sits alongside this.
What happens to bookings and money. Closing or suspending an account stops new bookings being made. On its own it does not cancel a booking that is already confirmed, and it does not take away a payout an expert has already earned. If a session does end up cancelled because an account was closed or suspended, what the learner gets back and what the expert is paid follow our Refund Policy exactly, treated the same way as any other cancellation. This page sets no separate amount, and if it ever appears to, the Refund Policy wins.
Account status during the invite-only beta. BookTheMeet is currently invite-only, so an account can be in one of a few states. A new account may start on a waiting list until we approve it. An expert's application is reviewed, and their page stays private and unbookable until it is approved. We may also block an account. Whether to approve, waitlist or block is our decision to make.
Whatever your status, you keep the things that are already yours: you can sign in, see and cancel the bookings and registrations you already have, edit your own profile, keep working on an expert profile as a draft, and receive any payout you have already earned. What a waitlisted or blocked account cannot do is start something new — book a call or register for a workshop.
15. Governing law, disputes, and our grievance officer
These terms are governed by the law of India. The courts at Kozhikode (Calicut), Kerala have jurisdiction over any dispute about these terms or about your use of BookTheMeet.
Please talk to us first. Almost everything — a refund, a no-show, a session that went badly, a payout that has not arrived — is faster to fix by writing to admin@bookthemeet.com with your booking or registration ID. We would far rather sort it out with you directly than have either of us go to court.
Grievance officer. The Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 require us to name someone you can bring a complaint to. That person is:
Abhinandh S J
Grievance Officer, BookTheMeet
Email: admin@bookthemeet.com
Put "Grievance" in the subject line so it is not missed. We will acknowledge your complaint, look into it, and come back to you with an answer within a reasonable period. BookTheMeet is a small team in beta; if something is going to take us longer than that, we will tell you so and tell you why, rather than go quiet.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed. Material changes will be announced before they take effect.
